Shield Works operates out of a modern 100,000 sq ft facility in the heart of Zhuhai, a key manufacturing hub in China's Greater Bay Area. As a British-owned and managed enterprise, we combine Western standards of service with on-the-ground manufacturing expertise to run high-quality, IP-secure assembly.
Our facility includes dedicated assembly rooms, semi-automated and automated assembly lines, ESD-controlled zones for electronics, private fingerprint-access rooms for high-security projects, and smart software systems that offer clients real-time oversight of their production line. We assemble for companies that cannot afford a leaked design or a failed batch. IP protection and quality control sit at the front of every line, not bolted on at the end.

What is contract assembly?
Contract assembly means outsourcing the build of your product to a specialist partner. Shield Works receives your components, or manages their supply, assembles to your specification under documented quality control, and ships finished, inspected units. You keep full ownership of the design and IP throughout.
How does Shield Works protect my IP during assembly?
Through a black-box model. Operators only see their assigned task, sensitive sub-assemblies are compartmentalised, and suppliers never receive full designs. IP-sensitive builds run in fingerprint-access rooms under NDA. See the full IP protection model.
What production volumes do you handle?
From prototype builds and low-volume runs through to ongoing mid and high-volume production. We scale the line setup to your order profile rather than forcing a fixed minimum.
How is quality controlled?
Dual-layer QC. Shield Works runs internal incoming, in-process, and final quality checks against an agreed inspection plan. A quality engineer from the C2W Group, our parent company, then independently verifies the batch and reports directly to you. More on quality inspection and testing.
Why not go direct to a factory or use a freelance agent?
A direct factory optimises for its own throughput and rarely offers Western-standard QC, IP control, or transparent reporting. A freelance agent has no facility of its own. Shield Works is a British-owned facility with its own controlled floor, its own quality team, and a single point of accountability from brief to shipment.
Can you take over assembly from our current manufacturer?
Yes. We regularly transition existing operations into our facility, including reassembly with firmware updates and process improvements, with minimal disruption to your supply.
What is out of scope?
We assemble consumer electronics, industrial hardware, and mechanical and electromechanical products across plastics, metals, composites, and electronics. We do not handle clothing, footwear, cosmetics, chemicals, food, or pharmaceuticals, and we do not take on defence work of any kind, including weapons, munitions and explosives.
What happens after I submit a brief?
We look at your specification and parts list, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and put NDA and IP scoping in place, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal.
