SHIELD WORKS · CUSTOM PET PRODUCTS & SMART DEVICES

Custom-engineered pet products, built to consumer-brand standards.

OEM manufacturing for pet brands: smart devices, containment, grooming, and enrichment products combining plastics, metals, textiles, and electronics under one accountable roof.

What we build for pet brands.

Shield Works manufactures pet products and smart pet devices for Western brands from an ISO-certified, British-owned facility in Zhuhai, China.

We build the engineered side of the category: connected feeders, GPS trackers, crates, grooming and aquatics hardware, integrating components from multiple vetted suppliers into finished, tested, retail-ready units. We do not handle pet food, treats, or supplements.

Who We Are

Pet owners read reviews. We build for them.

The pet category is unforgiving: products are chewed, pulled, dropped, and left outside, and a one-star durability review follows a brand around. Engineering for that abuse, across plastics, metals, textiles, batteries, and electronics, is a multi-supplier problem that needs one accountable integrator.

Shield Works manages the component chain, builds and tests the finished product in-house, and protects the connected features and designs that differentiate your brand.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands pets cannot break.

Multi-component builds

Modern pet products are devices

Smart feeders, GPS trackers, and connected toys combine plastics, metals, textiles, batteries, and electronics, components from many suppliers that have to assemble into one safe, durable product. That integration is our speciality.

Safety-first engineering

Built for animals, tested like it

Bite, pull, and chew durability, material safety, and pinch-point review are engineered in at the DFM stage and tested against your specification before production.

Safeguarding your innovations

Your designs stay yours

Distinctive mechanisms, connected features, and brand details are protected by black-box workflows and supplier isolation.

ESD-controlled electronics

Smart pet tech, built properly

Trackers, cameras, feeders, and app-connected devices are assembled in a dedicated ESD-controlled room with controlled firmware loading.

Quality proven per batch

Dual-layer verification

Internal incoming, in-process, and final checks against your inspection plan, then independent batch verification by a C2W Group quality engineer who reports directly to you.

British management

Western standards on the floor

British owned and managed, backed by the C2W Group’s 20 years of China manufacturing across consumer product categories.

What We Build

Smart devices to everyday pet hardware.

We have real, delivered experience in pet products, from connected smart devices to mechanical and soft-goods hardware. Most of this work is under NDA, so client names stay off this page: the same supplier isolation and project separation that keeps their launches confidential is what we offer you. Pet products engineered for durability and animal safety. We do not manufacture pet food, treats, or supplements.

Smart feeders & connected devices

Automatic feeders, cameras, and app-connected pet tech with electronics built in our ESD-controlled zone.

GPS & tracking wearables

Collar-mounted trackers and wearables combining electronics, batteries, and chew-resistant housings.

Travel, crates & containment

Carriers, crates, gates, and containment systems in fabricated metal, moulded polymer, and textiles.

Grooming hardware

Clippers, brushes, dryers, and grooming stations, including electric grooming devices.

Toys & enrichment

Durable chew, puzzle, and enrichment products with material safety verified to your market.

Aquatics & habitat equipment

Pumps, filtration, lighting, and habitat hardware combining electronics and water-safe materials.

Our Development Process

From concept to shelf, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Frequently Asked

Pet product manufacturing, answered.

What pet products can Shield Works manufacture?

Hardware and devices: smart feeders, GPS trackers, crates and carriers, grooming equipment, toys, and aquatics hardware. We do not manufacture pet food, treats, or supplements, which keeps our facility focused on the engineered products we are built for.

Can you build smart and app-connected pet devices?

Yes. Connected feeders, cameras, and trackers are assembled in our ESD-controlled electronics room with controlled firmware loading, and the design and app ecosystem stay protected throughout. See our electronics expertise.

How do you handle animal safety in design and testing?

Material safety, bite and pull durability, and pinch-point review are addressed at the DFM stage, then tested against your specification, including life-cycle and abuse testing where the product calls for it.

How do you protect our product designs?

Suppliers receive only the data their component requires, the complete product is integrated in-house, and each client project is isolated. See the full IP protection model.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

Can you handle retail packaging and fulfilment?

Yes. Retail-ready packaging runs in line with assembly, and warehousing, consolidation, and 3PL coordination are available on site. See warehousing and 3PL services.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your product and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. Submit your project brief.

The user cannot tell you it broke.

Pet products get chewed, dragged and slept on by something that will not read the instructions, and safety complaints travel fast in this category. Material safety and destructive testing are specified upfront rather than discovered through reviews.
