SHIELD WORKS · CUSTOM TOOLS & HARDWARE

Custom-engineered tools and hardware, built to professional grade.

OEM manufacturing for tool and hardware brands: multi-component sets across steel, polymer, and electronics, managed through one vetted supply chain and assembled under one roof.

What we build for tool and hardware brands.

Shield Works manufactures custom tools and hardware for Western brands from an ISO-certified, British-owned facility in Zhuhai, China.

We specialise in multi-supplier, multi-component products: tool sets, storage systems, and hardware that combine machined metal, moulded polymer, and electronics, sourced through the C2W Group's 550+ vetted suppliers and integrated, tested, and packed in-house.

Who We Are

The complicated builds are the ones we want.

A single-material commodity tool can be bought from a thousand factories. A 40-piece branded set with machined heads, over-moulded grips, a custom case, fitted foam, and retail packaging needs something different: one partner coordinating many suppliers, inspecting every component, and standing behind the finished product.

That is the work Shield Works is built for. Components funnel into our facility under incoming QC, assembly and packing run on one accountable line, and your designs stay protected by structure throughout.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands that take hardlines seriously.

Multi-component builds

Complete tool sets, assembled and packed

A professional tool set can carry dozens of components across steel, alloys, polymers, and packaging. We manage every part across multiple vetted suppliers and integrate the finished, packed set in-house, under one inspection regime.

Materials capability

Metalwork in our DNA

CNC machining, stamping, die casting, sheet metal, and fabrication, combined with injection-moulded grips and housings, heat treatment, and surface finishing through our supplier network.

Safeguarding your innovations

Your designs stay yours

Patented mechanisms, distinctive ergonomics, and trade-dress details are protected by black-box workflows and supplier isolation.

Quality proven under stress

Professional grade means tested

Torque, load, fatigue, and finish testing against your specification, with dual-layer verification: internal QC plus an independent C2W Group engineer reporting directly to you.

Our Development Process

From drawings to delivered sets, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Also audited annually under SEDEX SMETA, an independent ethical-trade audit covering labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.

Frequently Asked

Tools and hardware manufacturing, answered.

What tools and hardware can Shield Works manufacture?

Hand tools, tool sets, storage systems, fastening and fixing products, measuring tools, and garden tools, including products that combine metal, polymer, and electronic components. Custom multi-component sets are our speciality.

Can you match professional-grade quality standards?

Yes. Materials, hardness, torque ratings, and finish standards are agreed up front and tested against specification, with dual-layer QC before anything ships. More on quality inspection and testing.

How do you protect a patented tool design?

Suppliers receive only the data their component requires, the complete product is integrated in-house, and each client project is isolated. See the full IP protection model.

Can you handle the packaging and retail presentation?

Yes. Blister packs, clamshells, branded cases, custom foam, and retail-ready cartons run in line with assembly, so the product leaves our facility shelf-ready.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value, and most custom tool programmes run well beyond that.

Can you take over production from our current supplier?

Yes. We regularly transition existing tool and hardware lines into our managed chain, including re-tooling and design improvements, with production scheduled around your selling season.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your drawings and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. More on OEM tool manufacturing

Tools are judged by people who use them all day.

Trade users notice a bearing that runs rough or a handle that works loose within a week, and they tell each other. Durability, tolerance and finish are specified for that audience rather than for a shelf.
