SHIELD WORKS · CUSTOM FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT

Custom food service equipment, built for commercial duty.

OEM manufacturing for hospitality and food service brands: serving systems, warming and dispensing equipment, and display hardware combining stainless fabrication, thermal systems, and controls.

What we build for food service brands.

Shield Works manufactures commercial food service and hospitality equipment for Western brands from an ISO-certified, British-owned facility in Zhuhai, China.

Serving systems, induction and warming equipment, and dispensing hardware are built from components across multiple vetted suppliers, integrated and tested in-house, with food-contact and electrical compliance managed against your target market. We build equipment only, never food or consumables.

Who We Are

Equipment that survives the service rush.

Hospitality equipment lives a hard life: heat cycles, constant cleaning, and operators who do not read manuals. Building for that reality takes stainless and thermal engineering, food-safe materials, and controls that keep working, components that come from many suppliers and must perform as one unit.

That multi-supplier, multi-component integration is the core of what Shield Works does, in the same engineering family as the outdoor cooking and coffee equipment we develop and test in our own facility kitchen.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands that serve at scale.

Multi-component builds

Commercial equipment is a system

Serving systems, warmers, and dispensing equipment combine stainless fabrication, heating elements, controls, seals, and food-contact surfaces from many suppliers. We manage the chain and integrate the finished, tested unit in-house.

Stainless & heat expertise

The same DNA as our cooking products

Stainless fabrication, thermal systems, and food-adjacent compliance run through our outdoor cooking and coffee equipment work daily. Food service equipment sits squarely in that engineering family.

Built for duty cycles

Hospitality is a torture test

Equipment that lives in commercial kitchens and buffet lines gets slammed, scrubbed, and run all day. Hinges, latches, finishes, and elements are specified and tested for that life, not for the showroom.

Safeguarding your innovations

Your designs stay yours

Distinctive serving concepts and proprietary mechanisms are protected by black-box workflows and supplier isolation.

Quality proven per unit

Dual-layer verification

Electrical safety, thermal performance, and finish inspection against your specification, with independent batch verification by a C2W Group engineer who reports directly to you.

British management

Western standards on the floor

British owned and managed, with compliance experience for commercial equipment across UK, EU, and US hospitality markets, backed by the C2W Group’s 20 years in China manufacturing.

What We Build

From buffet line to back of house.

Commercial food service and hospitality equipment engineered for durability, hygiene, and serviceability. We build the equipment, not the food: ingredients, consumables, and perishables are out of scope.

Serving & buffet systems

Chafing systems, risers, dispensers, and modular buffet hardware in stainless and engineered polymers.

Induction & warming equipment

Induction warmers, heated displays, and holding equipment with integrated controls and safety systems.

Beverage & dispensing systems

Drink dispensers, urns, and beverage station hardware, alongside our coffee equipment expertise.

Commercial cooking equipment

Ovens, grills, and speciality cooking lines, sharing the engineering family of our outdoor cooking products.

Display & merchandising hardware

Counter displays, sneeze guards, and front-of-house fixtures built to retail-hospitality finish standards.

Smart & connected equipment

Temperature monitoring, controls, and connected equipment features built in our ESD-controlled electronics zone.

Soft Swirl countertop soft-serve machine

Soft Swirl

Ohio, USA

2 years with the C2W Group

Key projects: Countertop soft-serve ice cream machine.

A one-of-a-kind countertop soft-serve system that removes the cleaning and waste of traditional machines. The C2W Group finalised the design of this highly complex machine and transitioned it into mass production, handling engineering refinement, manufacturing setup, and production readiness.

Autogram automated ingredient-weighing system

Autogram

Netherlands

2 years with the C2W Group

Key projects: Automated ingredient-weighing system (0.1 g precision).

A compact automated weighing system for professional kitchens that dispenses dry ingredients to 0.1-gram precision. Over two years, the C2W Group finalised the design and prepared the machine for mass production, ensuring manufacturing readiness, consistent assembly, and commercial-grade QC.

Our Development Process

From concept to service line, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Also audited annually under SEDEX SMETA, an independent ethical-trade audit covering labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.

Frequently Asked

Food service equipment manufacturing, answered.

What food service equipment can Shield Works manufacture?

Serving and buffet systems, induction and warming equipment, beverage dispensing, commercial cooking lines, and front-of-house display hardware. We build equipment only: no food, ingredients, or consumables.

Can you handle food-contact and commercial compliance?

Yes. Food-contact material verification and electrical safety testing run against the standards your market requires, including CE, UKCA, UL, and NSF-aligned requirements where applicable, with the compliance plan agreed before production.

Do you test equipment before it ships?

Yes. Thermal performance, electrical safety, and finish inspection all run against your specification before shipment. More on quality inspection and testing.

Can you build to our existing design, or develop a new line with us?

Both. Most hospitality brands bring drawings we refine through DFM review; for new concepts our R&D team develops the design with you, from prototype to pilot run. See product development and DFM.

How do you protect proprietary serving concepts?

Suppliers receive only the data their component requires, the complete product is integrated in-house, and each client project is isolated. See the full IP protection model.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your equipment and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. Submit your project brief.

A commercial kitchen has no downtime.

Equipment in a working kitchen runs every service, gets cleaned hard, and cannot sit idle for a week waiting on a part. We build for that duty cycle, and we hold the documentation a food-service buyer asks for before they order.
