SHIELD WORKS · CUSTOM BARISTA & COFFEE EQUIPMENT

Custom-engineered coffee equipment, proven at our own barista station.

OEM manufacturing for coffee and barista equipment brands: espresso machines, grinders, and brewing hardware combining stainless fabrication, thermal systems, and control electronics managed as one project.

What we build for coffee brands.

Shield Works develops and manufactures coffee and barista equipment for global brands from an ISO-certified, British-owned facility in Zhuhai, China.

The R&D zone includes a dedicated barista station for testing coffee industry equipment, and production combines machined metal, stainless fabrication, and ESD-controlled electronics assembly, managed across the C2W Group's 550+ vetted suppliers.

Who We Are

Machines this fussy deserve makers this thorough.

Good coffee equipment is unforgiving engineering: water at precise temperatures, pressure held stable, materials that touch food, and electronics living next to heat and steam. Every one of those systems comes from a different supplier, and all of them have to work as one machine.

That is exactly the multi-supplier, multi-component work Shield Works is structured for: components verified on arrival, the machine integrated and tested in-house, and every batch independently checked before it ships.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands that obsess over the cup.

Multi-component builds

Heat, water, pressure, and electronics

Coffee equipment combines boilers, pumps, valves, machined brass and stainless, seals, and control electronics, components from many suppliers that have to work as one machine. We manage the chain and integrate the finished unit in-house.

Tested at our barista station

Proven on real coffee

The DFX R&D zone includes a barista station built for developing coffee industry equipment. Prototypes pull real shots, steam real milk, and run real duty cycles before the design is signed off for tooling.

Safeguarding your innovations

Your brewing technology stays yours

Thermal systems, pressure profiles, and control firmware are protected by black-box workflows and supplier isolation.

Quality proven per unit

Safety-critical, treated that way

Electrical safety, pressure, leakage, and temperature testing run against your specification, with dual-layer verification by an independent C2W Group engineer reporting directly to you.

British management

Western standards on the floor

British owned and managed, with Western engineering oversight and compliance experience for kitchen-counter appliances across UK, EU, and US markets.

C2W Group heritage since 2005

Two decades with heat and stainless

The same engineering family as our outdoor cooking expertise: heat systems, stainless fabrication, and food-adjacent compliance, backed by the C2W Group’s 20 years in China manufacturing.

5 years with the C2W Group

Key projects: Coffee grinders.

Premium grinders for home enthusiasts and professionals. Over 5 years, the C2W Group has supported custom product development, production management, and QC for high-performance grinders shipped worldwide.

Our Development Process

From concept to counter, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Also audited annually under SEDEX SMETA, an independent ethical-trade audit covering labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.

Frequently Asked

Coffee equipment manufacturing, answered.

What coffee equipment can Shield Works manufacture?

Espresso machines, grinders, manual brewing hardware, milk and steam systems, commercial counter equipment, and accessories. We handle the full multi-component build: machined metal, stainless fabrication, seals and food-contact parts, and control electronics, integrated and tested in-house.

How do you test coffee equipment during development?

At our own barista station, built into the R&D zone specifically for coffee industry equipment. Prototypes run real brewing and steaming cycles, with temperature, pressure, and durability measured before tooling is committed. See product development and DFM.

Can you handle food-contact and electrical compliance?

Yes. Food-contact material verification and electrical safety testing run against the standards your market requires, including CE, UKCA, and US requirements, with the compliance timeline built into the production plan.

How do you protect our brewing technology and designs?

Suppliers receive only the data their component requires, firmware and control logic are restricted to authorised engineers, and each client project is isolated. See the full IP protection model.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

Can you develop a new machine with us from concept?

Yes. Our in-house R&D team handles concept engineering, DFM, and prototyping, with the barista station available for live testing throughout development.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your product and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. Submit your project brief.

The machine has to pull the same shot on day one thousand.

Water at temperature, pressure held stable, food-contact materials and electronics living next to steam. Coffee equipment is judged on repeatability, and repeatability is a manufacturing problem long before it is a barista one.
