SHIELD WORKS · SECURITY HARDWARE & LOCKS

Security hardware, built in a facility designed around security.

OEM manufacturing for lock and security hardware brands: precision mechanisms, smart access control, and secure storage, made under black-box protocols in a fingerprint-access facility.

What we build for security brands.

Shield Works manufactures locks, access control, and security hardware for Western brands from a facility built around the same principle as the products: controlled access.

Production runs under black-box protocols in fingerprint-access rooms. British owned and managed, in Zhuhai, China.

Who We Are

A factory that practises what your product preaches.

Security brands face a unique manufacturing problem: every drawing, tolerance, and keying chart you share is a potential vulnerability. The right partner is not just capable of precision work, it is structured so that no supplier, operator, or visitor can ever assemble the full picture.

Shield Works runs that structure as standard: appointment-only site entry, floor-based access approval, fingerprint-controlled assembly rooms, and supplier isolation, so the mechanism your customers trust is protected from the day it enters production.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands that sell trust.

Safeguarding your innovations

Security products demand a secure factory

A lock mechanism in the wrong hands is a blueprint for defeating it. Black-box workflows keep operators on their own task, suppliers never see the complete mechanism, and IP-sensitive builds run in fingerprint-access rooms.

Multi-component precision

Mechanisms built to tolerance

Cylinders, levers, springs, and machined bodies across multiple suppliers and materials, integrated in-house with cycle, force, and finish testing so the mechanism performs the same on unit one and unit fifty thousand.

Electronics integration

Smart locks built in the ESD zone

Keypads, biometrics, wireless modules, and battery systems assembled in a dedicated ESD-controlled room, with controlled firmware loading and credential security built into the process.

Quality proven by abuse

Tested like an attacker, inspected like an auditor

Cycle testing, corrosion and ingress resistance, and force testing against your specification, with dual-layer verification by an independent C2W Group engineer who reports directly to you.

British management

Western standards on the floor

British owned and managed, with Western engineering oversight, binding NDAs signed before any technical discussion, and audit-ready documentation throughout.

C2W Group heritage since 2005

Two decades of precision work

Backed by the C2W Group’s 20 years of China manufacturing across machined, cast, and electro-mechanical products for Western brands.

What we build

The security hardware we build.

Representative of the categories we manufacture and assemble in Zhuhai, across machined brass and hardened steel, zinc alloy, and the electronics that turn a mechanical lock into a connected one. Every programme is built to the client's own design and keying specification.

  • Solid brass padlock with a closed shackle shrouded by the lock body

    Padlocks

Machined brass and hardened shackles, with the keyway and shackle fit checked on the line rather than sampled at the end.

  • Stainless steel padlock with a circular fingerprint reader set into the body

    Smart and biometric padlocks

Fingerprint and Bluetooth modules fitted in the ESD-controlled electronics room, then function-tested as a finished lock.

  • Black D-lock with a rubber-sleeved hardened shackle and a keyed cylinder in the crossbar

    D-locks and cycle security

Hardened shackles over-moulded to protect paintwork, assembled and keyed to your own cylinder specification.

  • Two satin nickel deadbolts, one with an illuminated keypad and one with a plain escutcheon

    Smart deadbolts

Keypad, motor and mechanical override built as one assembly, so the lock still works when the battery does not.

  • Stainless keypad gate lock with a lever handle beside its matching strike plate

    Gate and outdoor locks

Stainless and marine-grade finishes for exterior use, with the latch and keep supplied as a matched set.

  • Six euro-profile cylinders in brass and nickel with rows of pins and two cut keys

    Cylinders and master-keyed suites

Euro-profile cylinders pinned to your keying chart, from single-keyed units to a master suite across a whole building.

  • Long multipoint locking strip with a central gearbox, shoot bolts and keep plates

    Multipoint window and door mechanisms

Espagnolette strips, gearboxes and keeps built as a mechanism and cycled before packing, not assembled at the customer.

  • Compact black document safe with its door open, showing an electronic keypad and three locking bolts

    Safes and secure storage

Fabricated steel bodies with the bolt work, keypad and override lock integrated and tested as one unit.

  • Compartment tray holding cut keys, pin stacks, springs and small lock components

    Keys, blanks and spare parts

Cut keys, blanks and service parts kitted and held so a line can be supported for years after launch, not just shipped.

  • A range of security hardware together: D-lock, keypad lock, deadbolt, safe, padlocks, key tray, cylinders and multipoint strips

    Full security hardware ranges

Whole ranges built under one roof, so mechanical and connected products in the same line share a keying system and a finish.

Don’t see your product?

These are the categories we build most often, not a catalogue.

Lock designs get copied, which is why this category sits inside a facility built around IP protection: black-box workflows, supplier isolation, and no single vendor holding your complete mechanism.

12 years with the C2W Group

Key projects: Padlocks, bicycle locks, electronic door locks.

Britain’s long-established high-security lockmaker. Across a 12-year C2W Group relationship, we provide product sourcing, custom product development, production management, and quality control, holding their locks to rigorous safety and durability standards for global markets.

Our Development Process

From mechanism drawings to shipped units, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Frequently Asked

Security hardware manufacturing, answered.

Why does manufacturing security hardware require an IP-protected facility?

Because the product is the secret. Anyone who sees the full mechanism, the keying system, or the firmware can compromise it. At Shield Works, operators only see their assigned task, suppliers only receive the data their component requires, and the complete product is integrated in-house under fingerprint-access control. See the full IP protection model.

Can you manufacture both mechanical and electronic locks?

Yes. Precision mechanical work runs alongside a dedicated ESD-controlled electronics room, so traditional cylinders and smart, app-connected locks are built under one roof with one quality regime.

How is quality tested for security products?

Cycle testing, force and tamper resistance, corrosion and ingress testing, and dimensional verification against your specification, plus independent batch verification by a C2W Group quality engineer. More on quality inspection and testing.

Do you sign NDAs, and are they enforceable?

Yes. NDAs are signed before any technical discussion, and the agreements are binding, signed with a British-owned and managed company. Staff and supplier contracting includes confidentiality obligations, with documented, audit-ready controls.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

Can you take over production of an existing security product line?

Yes. We transition existing lines into our facility regularly, including re-tooling, process improvements, and design updates, with confidentiality maintained throughout the transfer.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your product and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. Submit your project brief.

Security hardware is bought on trust and tested by failure.

A lock or a strongbox is judged the one time somebody attacks it, and that is a poor moment to discover a material substitution. Specification control, supplier verification and batch traceability are the whole job in this category.
