ESD-CONTROLLED · ISO-CERTIFIED · PCBA TO BOX BUILD

PCB assembly and box build, under one roof.

SMT and through-hole assembly, cable harnesses, and complete box build integration in an ESD-controlled, IP-protected facility.

From bare board to tested, boxed product.

What our electronics assembly covers.

Shield Works provides PCB assembly and box build services from an ESD-controlled, ISO-certified facility in Zhuhai, China.

Boards are assembled and verified in line, then integrated with enclosures, cables, and packaging into finished, tested units. The facility is British owned and managed, with black-box IP protection for designs and firmware.

Who We Are

Electronics assembly with the whole product in mind.

Most PCB assembly houses stop at the board. Shield Works is built for the products around it: multi-supplier, multi-component devices where the PCB meets an enclosure, a display, a battery, a harness, and a retail box, and where someone has to be accountable for the finished unit.

Components arrive from vetted suppliers under incoming QC, boards are built and checked in our ESD zone, and complete devices are integrated, tested, and packed by our own staff. One facility, one inspection regime, one point of contact.

Why Choose Shield Works

Board to finished product, under one roof.

ESD-controlled environment

Built where electronics belong

Boards are assembled in a dedicated ESD zone with real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, and static levels, so sensitive components are protected from the moment they arrive.

Multi-supplier integration

Box build is what we do best

A finished device is rarely one part. We coordinate PCBs, enclosures, displays, cables, and packaging from multiple suppliers, inspect every component on arrival, and integrate the complete unit in-house.

Firmware & design security

Your IP never reaches the line

Firmware is loaded under controlled protocols, design data is restricted to authorised engineers, and no supplier ever receives the full product.

Dual-layer verification

Tested as it is built, not after

In-line inspection verifies every board during assembly, functional test and burn-in prove the finished unit, and an independent C2W Group quality engineer verifies each batch and reports directly to you.

British management

Western standards, plain English

A British-owned and managed facility with Western engineering oversight, transparent reporting, and a single accountable point of contact from Gerber files to shipped goods.

One roof

From bare board to boxed product

PCBA, harness work, enclosure integration, testing, packing, and warehousing run in one facility, so your product never gets lost in handoffs between vendors.

What We Assemble

From surface mount to shipped units.

Electronics assembly across consumer, industrial, and AI-enabled devices, with the mechanical and packaging work handled in line.

SMT assembly

Surface-mount assembly on semi-automated lines with in-line verification of every board.

Through-hole & mixed technology

Through-hole and mixed-technology boards built and checked by trained, ESD-smocked technicians.

Box build & enclosure integration

Complete device integration: boards, displays, batteries, mechanics, and enclosures assembled into the finished, branded unit.

Cable & wire harnesses

Custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses, built and tested to your drawings.

Functional test & burn-in

Test jigs, functional testing, and burn-in protocols agreed against your specification before production starts.

Kitting, packaging & fulfilment

Final kitting, retail or industrial packaging, and dispatch from our own warehouse, with order consolidation available.

Our Development Process

From Gerber files to shipped units, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Also audited annually under SEDEX SMETA, an independent ethical-trade audit covering labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.

Frequently Asked

PCB assembly and box build, answered.

What is box build assembly?

Box build, sometimes called systems integration, is everything after the bare PCB: assembling the board into its enclosure with displays, batteries, cabling, and mechanical parts, loading firmware, testing the finished unit, and packing it for retail or distribution. Shield Works manages the complete process under one roof.

Do you fabricate bare PCBs?

Bare boards are fabricated by vetted suppliers in our network and inspected on arrival at our facility. Assembly, integration, testing, and packing then run in-house, so accountability for the finished product sits in one place.

What files do you need to quote a PCB assembly project?

Gerber files, the bill of materials, and pick-and-place data for the board work, plus 3D files or drawings for the enclosure and any cable assemblies. We sign an NDA before any data is shared. Submit your project brief.

How do you protect firmware and designs during assembly?

Firmware is loaded under controlled, role-restricted protocols, operators only see their assigned task, and suppliers receive only the data their component requires. IP-sensitive builds run in fingerprint-access rooms. See the full IP protection model.

What ESD controls are in place?

A dedicated electronics zone with built-in electrostatic discharge protection, ESD smocks and grounding for all operators, and real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, and ESD levels across the line.

What volumes do you handle, and is there a minimum?

From pilot builds through ongoing volume production. We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

Can you test the finished product, not just the board?

Yes. Functional, electrical, and environmental testing run against your agreed specification, and an independent C2W Group quality engineer verifies each batch before it ships. More on quality inspection and testing.

Can you build AI-enabled and connected devices?

Yes. We assemble AI-enabled hardware, voice and vision devices, and connected products, with sensor integration, firmware loading, and the IP controls that category demands. See our electronics manufacturing expertise.
