SHIELD WORKS · CUSTOM LED LIGHTING

Custom LED lighting, engineered from board to finished fixture.

OEM manufacturing for lighting brands: LED boards and drivers built in an ESD-controlled zone, then integrated with optics, heatsinks, and housings into tested, compliant fixtures.

What we build for lighting brands.

Shield Works manufactures custom LED lighting for Western brands from an ISO-certified, British-owned facility in Zhuhai, China.

LED boards and drivers are assembled in an ESD-controlled zone, housings and optics are sourced through vetted suppliers, and complete fixtures are integrated, photometrically checked, and tested in-house before shipping.

Who We Are

Light quality starts on the production line.

A lighting product fails in two ways: at the board, where a cold joint or thermal mistake shortens its life, and at the fixture, where housings, optics, and seals from different suppliers fail to come together. Both problems are solved by the same thing: one facility accountable for the complete build.

Shield Works runs board assembly, fixture integration, and testing under one roof, with the multi-supplier component chain managed and inspected before anything reaches the line.

Why Choose Shield Works

Built for brands that sell light, not lumens on paper.

Multi-component builds

A luminaire is a system

LED boards, drivers, optics, heatsinks, housings, and wiring come from different suppliers and disciplines. We manage the full chain, inspect every component on arrival, and integrate the finished fixture in-house.

ESD-controlled assembly

LED boards built where they belong

LED PCBs and driver electronics are assembled in a dedicated ESD-controlled zone with in-line verification, so failures are caught at the board, not in the field.

Safeguarding your innovations

Optics and designs protected

Optical designs, driver firmware, and distinctive housings are protected by black-box workflows and supplier isolation.

Quality proven by measurement

Light is measurable. So is quality.

Photometric checks, electrical safety, thermal performance, and ingress testing run against your specification, with dual-layer verification by an independent C2W Group engineer.

British management

Western standards on the floor

British owned and managed, with Western engineering oversight and compliance experience for lighting across UK, EU, and US markets.

C2W Group heritage since 2005

Two decades of lighting work

Backed by the C2W Group’s 20 years of China manufacturing, including LED lighting and electrical products for Western brands. That track record includes a decade of full-time quality control for a US professional-tools brand across its flashlight and lighting lines, sold through major retailers, plus dedicated custom LED lighting programmes.

Drivers, controls & accessories

Drivers, controllers, mounting systems, and the accessories that complete a lighting range.

Our Development Process

From fixture concept to shipped pallets, in six managed steps.

Step 1

Evaluation & consultation

Share your concept, materials, target market, and production goals. We sign an NDA before specifics are discussed, then assess feasibility and the best path forward.

Step 2

Route to Market Plan (RTMP)

A structured manufacturing roadmap for your product: key stages, estimated costs, and production timelines, agreed before tooling money is committed.

Step 3

Product definition & prototyping

Engineering files refined into physical prototypes, iterated until materials, function, and durability are proven rather than assumed.

Step 4

Design for manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)

Bill of materials, tolerances, and assembly workflows finalised for repeatable production, eliminating manufacturing problems on paper rather than on the line.

Step 5

Mass production & assembly

A pilot batch verifies every component against specification before full production. Multi-supplier sourcing means no single supplier ever sees the complete design.

Step 6

Quality control & logistics

Every batch is inspected against your agreed criteria, then packed, consolidated, and shipped from our own warehouse, in secure custody until it leaves for your market.

Certifications

Four international certifications. One facility.

Shield Works is independently certified across three management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001). Also audited annually under SEDEX SMETA, an independent ethical-trade audit covering labour, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.

Frequently Asked

LED lighting manufacturing, answered.

What LED lighting products can Shield Works manufacture?

Residential, commercial, industrial, and outdoor fixtures, plus smart and connected lighting. We handle the complete build: LED boards and drivers in our ESD-controlled zone, housings and heatsinks through vetted suppliers, and final assembly, testing, and packing in-house.

Can you build smart and connected lighting?

Yes. Wireless modules, sensors, and app-connected controls are assembled alongside the fixtures, with firmware loaded under controlled protocols. See our electronics manufacturing expertise.

How do you test lighting quality?

Photometric and electrical checks, thermal performance, and ingress testing for rated products, all against your agreed specification, with independent batch verification before shipping. More on quality inspection and testing.

Can you handle CE, UKCA, and other lighting compliance?

Yes. Compliance testing and certification are managed against the standards your market requires, with the timeline built into your production plan.

How do you protect our optical and product designs?

Suppliers receive only the data their component requires, the complete fixture is integrated in-house, and each client project is isolated. See the full IP protection model.

What is your minimum order?

We do not run a fixed minimum order quantity, but projects typically start from USD 10,000 in order value.

What happens after I submit a brief?

We look at your fixture and requirements, assess fit, and reply to most enquiries within 24 hours. If it looks like a fit, we review the project in detail and issue an NDA where needed, then set up a call to confirm fit before we come back with a proposal. All work runs under a paid engagement. Submit your project brief.

Lighting is judged on consistency.

Colour temperature that drifts between batches, or drivers that fail early, turn a lighting range into a returns problem. Binning, driver selection and batch testing are controlled here so the tenth order matches the first.
